Lulie Wallace is a Georgia-based fine artist and textile designer, known for her bright botanical paintings, textiles, and wallpapers. She started her career upon graduation from the College of Charleston– with a BFA in painting– and has since worked with Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, and many more.

I've been a huge fan of Lulie's work for a LONG time (you can see one of her paintings in my kitchen here!). We've been looking for the perfect opportunity to work together for a long time– so when Weezie came out with our collection of powder bath towels, we knew it was the perfect place to put some of Lulie's gorgeous patterns

I sat down with Lulie to talk about all things towels and textiles.

Tell us a little about yourself, Lulie!

I am a mama of three currently living in Columbus, Georgia! I am a textile designer and also a fine artist.  I love collaborating with others because it gives me the opportunity to dip my toes into so many different areas of the design world and I just love what I do!

Take us behind the scenes! What was it like working with Weezie on this collection?

We took some of our favorite patterns and turned them into the cutest hand towels! It’s always a blast to see our designs on products and it truly was so much fun dreaming these up with the Weezie towel girls!

What is your favorite Weezie item and why?

I do just love the classic bath towels! I think their monogramming is so fresh and modern and the quality is oh so nice!

Tell us more about the inspiration behind the two prints you chose for Weezie, Louisa and Sarah? What’s in a name?!

Sarah is actually from one of my very first collections probably around ten years ago and Louisa is a newer addition we released in 2021! With each pattern, we’re trying just to modernize the classics (which I feel Weezie as a brand does as well) and we always have the best time pattern playing and picking different color ways!

Outside of Louisa and Sarah, what are some of your other current favorite Lulie Wallace prints?

I really love our Martha print. To us, she was pretty complex to make, and I’m really proud of how she turned out! I also love our “Lucy” print because she’s just so feminine and I’ve loved seeing her installed in such a variety of different ways!

Lastly, “Mary” is just one of my all time faves from our collection that is in my own personal house and I just love it so much! The colorway with the orange is just kind of unexpected, but she’s so nice to me!

What’s an upcoming project you’re excited about?

We are always thinking and dreaming of new patterns and we’re currently designing some lovely ones for the fall that I’m especially excited about!

At Weezie, we’re always looking for more ways to #enjoythestay. It’s our way of reminding ourselves to slow down and appreciate the small things in life, from actually using your luxury towels, to burning your candles, to taking that vacation you’ve been thinking about. On that note, we’d love to hear how you #enjoythestay!

Your favorite place to vacation is…. out west, the mountains out there are just super majestic!

You’re always listening to…. songs my kids request, currently on repeat in my van is “Eye of the Tiger”

You love to unwind by…. just a morning by myself in my house, doesn’t get much more peaceful to me!

Something that brings you joy is….. definitely my three girls. They make me smile everyday, they are just the funnest group of ladies to me and I love being their mama!

You can’t live without your… morning iced coffee and Chobani creamer. This isn’t an ad for Chobani creamer, but if you haven’t tried it, I would highly recommend it! It’s still in the 90’s right now in Columbus where I live, but the pumpkin spice Chobani Coffee creamer is really sparking joy for me right now! Like a good, iced Chai…yum!

Thanks, Lulie! We can't wait to see what you dream up next!
