The ladies behind GordonDunning Interior Design designed a jewel box of a powder room, Weezie Hand Towels included! We chatted with Cate and Lathem to get the full scoop on sourcing for this beautiful bathroom.
Cate and Lathem, tell us a little about yourselves!
We are located in Atlanta, and we founded GordonDunning in 2014. Prior to founding our firm, we attended design school at Savannah College of Art & Design (Lathem) and Georgia Southern (Cate), and we each worked in the industry for about 4-5 years.
Tell us about this bathroom!
When our client purchased the home, the powder room was very industrial. In order to achieve the wallpaper, jewel-box goodness that we all wanted, the space required a full gut.
Deciding between paint and wallpaper is very situational. Sometimes you want the walls to be the “Meryl Streep” of the room, and sometimes you want them to be the supporting actress…and both wallpaper and paint can be both! In this case, we wanted the wallpaper to be the star…but also remain neutral in color so we could have our color punch fun elsewhere!
The client isn’t afraid of color, so we chose the pink piping and monogram Weezie towels to contrast with the custom, deep teal vanity, and add another layer of color.
