Elizabeth Leaman, founder of Lady Lancaster, shares her holiday inspiration—from festive traditions and thoughtful hosting tips to the timeless beauty of vintage textiles.
How would you style the Lady Lancaster x Weezie Ethel Jacket? Any fun accessories you'd use? I love the versatile nature of my Aunt Ethel Jacket. I would wear it over a bikini as a cover up if I was in the tropics or I would just as easily style it over my tennis dress for an outdoor lunch at my club.
Do you have a favorite Lady Lancaster product that you think makes an ideal holiday gift? As a lifelong indigo lover, the best gift I could receive would be an Aunt Ethel jacket made out of a turn of the century indigo quilt. This is an ideal holiday gift because it is a wardrobe multitasker, reads as a neutral, works with everything in your closet, and all while stopping traffic.
As someone who values luxury and comfort, what are your top tips for hosting guests during the holiday season? Find yourself an epic bartender who will stick with you for life! I love to send my guests away with gifts, even if the gift is a hot toddy for the road in an upscale to go cup.
What inspires you during the holiday season, both personally and professionally? Personally, I love to kick the holidays off with my annual visit to John Derian in NYC.The way he transforms his store in Manhattan has captured my attention since I was young. It is 100% my inspiration for how I decorate my home. Professionally, I believe I have some of the best and most interesting clients. They inspire me to new creative heights for my holiday collections.
What are some of your favorite holiday traditions that you look forward to every year? I love hosting my family on Christmas day and I'm a massive fan of New Year's Eve. I love creating themed parties that allow for over the top dressing.
