Tell us about your journey into content creation and design! How did you begin your career as a designer?
After design school in Chicago, I started my career as the in-house designer for a Chicago residential builder. Being on a construction site every day, and coordinating with every trade, architect, and vendor on a job will really teach you a lot! It was tremendous experience. Seven years later, in 2020, I opened my own company. Now I have the autonomy to create my own designs and content, no questions asked!

Your style in a few words:
A classically-inspired refreshed and fun mix of old and new

Your forever inspo:
Give me a trip to Europe any day!

Can you give us a glimpse into the process of bringing this beautiful bathroom together?
This little girl’s bathroom in Dallas was part of an 8,000 SF Spanish Revival full home renovation. To stay true to the Spanish and Mediterranean bones of the home, we leaned into incorporating clay and earth-based materials in many of the spaces such as this one. The custom hand-glazed pink and green terracotta tile from Tabarka was the jumping off point for the rest of the design. My client and I both love pink and green so we decided to keep layering that palette. It took some time to find the right wallpaper, which happened to come from a Spanish textile company founded in 1876 (kismet, perhaps?). I wanted to add a natural fiber texture somewhere and loved the organic shape of the mirror. Along the way, my client and I became obsessed with everything from Coleen and Co. lighting, and knew Asha’s bath would be the perfect place to let those gorgeous lights shine. Their in-house Blush finish was almost a perfect match against the paper and tile. The space really all came together in the most harmonious and happy way!

The design brief:

What are you reading?
The Gardener’s Guide for Charleston and the Lowcountry.  I am a recent Charleston, SC transplant (no pun intended).

Who are you following?
Summer Thornton is a magician. Mark Sikes, Jake Arnold, Marie Flanigan, Ken Fulk, and Isabel Lopez-Quesada

What’s next?
A fun outdoor Kitchen and Cabana bath renovation in Palm Beach

Recent interiors splurge:
Soane’s Scrolling Fern wallpaper in duck egg blue for my powder room.

Recent interiors steal:
A set of four vintage Kessler Patio chairs for my screened-in porch. I plan to pair them with a marble-top bistro style dining table for an eat-in area.
