To celebrate our first birthday, we want everyone to get to know our resident Hype Girls: our co-founders. While Weezie’s only had one year around the sun, Liz and Lindsey have known each other for over a decade. Back when they met in 2007, they had no idea that they’d start a company together.

Now, as the CEO, Lindsey is the problem-solver-in-chief. Her critical thinking skills, business background, and resilience keep Weezie running on a daily basis. And her excellent taste in wine keeps Weezie powered through late nights. Here, Lindsey lets us in on taking the leap to start a business, what she’s looking forward to, how she enjoys the stay, and more

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I spent my childhood all over - Atlanta, San Francisco, Kansas City, outside D.C.- but I usually say I am from Atlanta to keep it simple. I went to Vanderbilt undergrad, Columbia Business School and have lived in New York City for just over 8 years. I live with my husband and our french bulldog, Moose.

Tell us about Liz approaching you with the idea for what ultimately became Weezie.  What did you think, and at what point did you realize it had such exciting potential?

Honestly, I am a pessimist by nature, and had just spent the past few years investing in early stage businesses, so my first instinct was to poke holes in the idea everywhere I could! It took probably 6 full months of Liz’s persistent convincing combined with countless hours of industry research, manufacturer meetings and customer surveys before I fully committed. I don’t think there was one “AHA” moment, but it all boiled down to one simple notion: the vast majority of people did not love their towels, and we set out to change that.

What is your role at the company, and what do you enjoy most about it?

I’m the CEO which means I have my hands in a little bit of everything! That is definitely my favorite part - the job is so dynamic and truly changes every day as we continue to grow.

One of the many functions you oversee is Customer Experience.  Tell us about your vision for this area of the business. What makes the Weezie experience unique?

I hate to pick favorites, but the Customer Experience function holds a very special place in my heart! Our customers are the lifeblood of the business, and we’d be nowhere without them. Our goal is for the experience to be nothing short of exceptional from the moment you first hear about Weezie to years after you’ve used your first towel. To that end, we are constantly seeking to improve our customer experience - from the product itself, to the unboxing experience, to the lead times, and the interactions with the customer service team. Every single touchpoint is so important to us.

Looking back on Weezie’s first full year in business, what are you most proud of and why?

I am most proud of our team. I often catch myself looking around the room in awe of the awesome group of people we have put together. I feel the same way about our team as I do our customers - we'd be nowhere without them!

Looking ahead, what are you most looking forward to and why?

That is a tough one! Right now, I can’t wait to get the business to Atlanta. It is the perfect place for our business to call home and it will be so nice to finally get the team settled there. Beyond that, I am really looking forward to just growing our brand and customer base. We have barely scratched the surface!
