Many months in the making, we’re thrilled to finally unveil two heirloom embroidery styles that are both fresh and timeless, a modern nod to antique English styles of the past. Luxury towels just got a little more luxe.
Introducing Isla, a bespoke embroidery style as elegant as its namesake, designer & artist Isla Simpson. Available in both green and light blue thread.

Isla Simpson takes us behind the scenes of the collaboration.
1. What can you share about working with Weezie and Moda on this upcoming collection?
I was thrilled to work with Weezie and Moda Operandi on this special collection! I adore old French trousseau linens, monogrammed with hand embroidery. So I thought that would be the prettiest starting point for our collection, towels embroidered with antique typefaces and tiny flowers. Luckily Weezie and Moda Operandi were open to my sentimental ideas! I hand draw everything to capture that vintage feel, all my designs need to have a heavy dose of nostalgia woven throughout.
2. Walk us through the design process.
We wanted the collection to have an heirloom feel: despite the limited edition nature of the trunkshow, it was important to us that the designs stand the test of time. Monogramming is much less common here in the UK, so it was such a treat to play with new styles and sources of inspiration.
I turned to one of my very favorite designs for Daisy, and loved the look of the placed flowers to form a band across the towel. For the embroidery style that would become Isla, I sourced several antique embroidery styles for inspiration. I loved the delicate floral in the single-letter monogram, which has a decidedly classic look.
