Tiki meets terry in this statement-making space. Wrapped in a punchy print and flocked in Sherwin-Williams ‘Arugula’ green, Kevin Francis O’Gara marries the spunk of the adjoining Tiki Bar room with a luxe, Palm Beach feel.
Tell us about your journey into design! How did you begin your career as a designer?
I started the design blog Thou Swell as a sophomore in high school, having no idea it would lead me right into my career in design! I started just by sharing and writing about my favorite design inspiration, and then began working on my own little room refreshes before I started working with home decor brands on the blog and my social media channels to produce full design projects. In 2018 I launched my first original product collection, my maze-inspired area rugs, and after studying design and hospitality at Cornell University I returned to Atlanta to continue working with interior design clients, expanding my product collections, and partnering with design brands through my social media following.

Where do you look to find inspo:
I love the chance to look through European design magazine issues like World of Interiors, Elle Decoration, and AD Spain.
Can you give us a glimpse into the process of bringing this beautiful bathroom together?
This playful bathroom was part of a truly unique project – I was tasked with transforming an empty, unused room in a carriage house into a tiki bar. It was so much fun to think outside of the box on this bar and the adjoining bathroom and really lean into statement-making pieces that could live in such a fun, creative entertaining space. The existing bathroom just needed some custom touches to bring it to life.
